Tattoo Care FAQs – Tattoo Cream, Tattoo Balm Advice | London Studio

Please contact me using the contact form if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Yes! Our studio is a flat ground studio that involves no stairs or obstacles.

If you are concerned about sensory overload, I can put up blinds to make sure you feel less stimulated however unfortunately we don't have a separate room for these occasions. Please let me know what your requirements are and I will be more than happy to accommodate to make sure you are at ease.

I am also in the process of learning BSL (British Sign Language) so I will soon be able to speak to customers via this language soon!

Getting a tattoo can be uncomfortable, but the level of pain varies depending on the individual and the location of the tattoo. I have been told that I am incredibly gentle and will always make sure that you are ok and comfortable. I always start a tattoo with small details so your body will get used to the sensation. The first 10 minutes are always the worse and then the pain subsides.

Please make sure to have a good nights sleep before your appointment.

Have a large breakfast/lunch as this helps your blood levels. Not eating can affect the tattoo process and healing, so food is incredibly important.

Please do not drink alcohol 24 hours before.

Please do not take ibuprofen. Paracetamol is fine.

Moisturising the skin helps tattooists tattoo as it softens the skin texture. I suggest that if moisturising isn't part of your regime, make it! Please moisturise your skin every day leading up to your tattoo.

Absolutely! Please just let me know and I will have no problem with that. If you would like to watch films whilst being tattooed I can arrange a table close to you where you can rest your phone/iPad. Your comfort is my priority.

Yes, by law you must be at least 18 years old to get a tattoo. You will be required to show ID on the day of your tattoo. You are not able to get a tattoo under the age of 18 even with parental consent.

If you are 17 however and would like to book in for a tattoo once you're 18, that is completely fine!

The healing time for a tattoo varies depending on the individual and the location of the tattoo. Generally, tattoos take 2-4 weeks to heal. I will provide you aftercare instructions on the day and will have aftercare cream available to purchase on the day.  If you would like to know about the tattoo aftercare in advance, please head to the 'AFTERCARE' section on this website.

I will provide your aftercare instructions on the day of your appointment but you can also find tattoo aftercare instructions in the 'AFTERCARE' section on this website.

Numbing cream varies to each artist as it depends on their needle grouping and tattoo machine.

Unfortunately as my needles are very fine, numbing cream makes it difficult to penetrate the skin. I have numbing sprays available during your appointment but these can only be used once the skin has been broken.

The studio doesn't allow friends/family members into the tattoo room with you whilst you get tattooed. However, I fully appreciate that you may want to bring somebody along for moral support. In this case, I'm happy for you to bring a friend to wait with you if you feel that you need it, but once tattooing starts I and the studio would appreciate it if you friend doesn't stay and go to take a wander around the area rather than staying in the waiting room for the duration of your tattoo. This is because we have limited seating in our waiting area that we need for other clients who are booked in to be tattooed.

This all depend on the complexity or placements of the tattoo. I do not do day rates, the design is priced according to detail and time needed to draw and tattoo.

My minimum price is £100.

Absolutely! No health condition should stop you from getting a tattoo. However I would appreciate you telling me about your condition during the booking in process so I can be fully prepared to tattoo you on the day of your appointment.

Yes, both my black, greys and whites are vegan.

I do not do walk-ins. My working days are Monday/Tuesday/Friday/Saturday and during these times I am fully booked with customers. If you are wanting something done sooner rather than later, I normally have time to squeeze in a small tattoo however this needs to be requested beforehand via email or through my contact page.

I work Monday/ Tuesday/ Friday/ Saturday 11-8pm. if you are needing a day outside my working days I am always willing to do an extra day however this would need to be something hand size or bigger and nothing smaller.

My books are normally full a month in advance so I would always recommend booking in advance.

You are able to book in for a tattoo by either emailing me or filling out a form on my 'CONTACT' page. When enquiring about a tattoo please make sure to include reference images, placement (i.e. left bicep) and a brief description of what it is that you're looking for. If you have a budget, that is helpful to hear also!

Consultations are normally for large projects such as half/full length sleeves however there are exceptions such as difficult gap fillers or scar and tattoo cover ups. If I feel like you may need a consultation I will suggest this however consultations are not needed for standard pieces.

Deposits are non-refundable. If you need to rebook and I am told less than 7 days in advance then unfortunately a new deposit will need to be made in order to book you in again. If I am told before 7 days, then you are able to reschedule your appointment one more time.

I do free touch ups within a 3 month period. I recommend allowing your tattoo to settle for a month and then the 2 months after that we can do your touch up. If you are needing a touch up outside of this time period then it will be chargeable.

Tattoo designs are typically shown on the day of your appointment as any changes are best translated in person. This means I can make those changes right in front of you so we can make sure we have the same understanding and it can feel like more of a collaborative project. What you may suggest in changes via text could mean something completely different to me so that’s why it’s always best to do in person!
